I get this question all the time:“Does red light therapy really work?”And even more specifically: “Do at-home devices actually make a difference?”

The answer is simple—yes. Absolutely.

But let’s take a step back, because this is where my philosophy on skincare really comes in.

In today’s world, we’re constantly chasing quick fixes—injectables, filters, instant results. And while there’s a place for some of that, my practice has always been rooted in something deeper:aging gracefully, supporting the skin long-term, and creating a glow that lasts decades—not just days.

Skin Health Starts at the Cellular Level

If we want truly healthy, radiant skin, we have to think beyond the surface.

Red light therapy works at the cellular level, which is what makes it so powerful.

Think about it this way:Plants use sunlight to create energy. We absorb sunlight to produce vitamin D.

In a similar way, red light therapy delivers specific wavelengths of light that stimulate your cells to function better.

This process supports:

  • Cellular repair

  • Increased collagen production

  • Improved circulation

  • Faster healing

And when your skin is healthy on the inside, it naturally reflects on the outside—firmer, stronger, more radiant skin.

Why I Use Red Light in My Treatments

In my studio, I often use red light therapy after treatments.

Why?

Because after we’ve worked on the surface—whether it’s exfoliation, microneedling, or peels—red light helps:

  • Calm inflammation

  • Speed up recovery

  • Support deeper healing

It’s truly an inside-out approach to skincare, which is where real transformation happens.

Not All Light Is the Same

Light therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. Different wavelengths serve different purposes:

  • Red Light → Anti-aging, collagen production, healing, inflammation reduction

  • Blue Light → Targets acne-causing bacteria

  • Near-Infrared Light → Supports deeper tissue repair and pain relief

  • UV Light → Used in controlled environments for specific skin conditions (not typical for daily skincare use)

Light, when used correctly, is an incredible source of healing.

So the real question becomes—why wouldn’t we incorporate it into our skincare routine?

Do At-Home Devices Work?

Yes—they do.

But here’s the key: consistency matters more than intensity.

In-studio, I use medical-grade devices that deliver higher energy output and deeper penetration.

At home, devices are slightly less powerful—but when used regularly, they are incredibly effective.

Two of the most popular and reliable brands are:

  • Omnilux LED Mask

  • Higher DOSE Red Light Face Mask

These typically range from $300–$500 and are designed for daily use at home.

What to Expect:

  • At-home use: 10–15 minutes per session

  • In-studio treatments: Up to 30 minutes for deeper penetration

Think of at-home devices as your daily dose of cellular support—reaching layers of the skin that topical products simply can’t.

The Science Behind It

Red light therapy isn’t just a trend—it’s backed by real research.

Even NASA has studied and used red light therapy to help astronauts:

  • Repair tissue

  • Reduce muscle atrophy

  • Support healing after time in zero gravity

That’s how powerful this technology is—it works far beyond just the surface.

The Bottom Line

So… does red light therapy work?

Let me put it this way:Does water quench your thirst?

Yes.And just like hydration, the more consistent you are, the better the results.

Your Glow—Now and Later

If you’re serious about your skin—not just today, but 10, 20, even 30 years from now—this is one of the most effective, non-invasive tools you can incorporate.

It’s not about chasing perfection. It’s about building healthy, resilient skin that carries you beautifully through every stage of life.

If you have questions, I’m always here to guide you.And if you’re ready to experience it for yourself—book your red light therapy session with me.

Your future skin will thank you ✨
